VIKTORIE LANGER

Viktorie Langer was born in 1988. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2009–2015). She lives and works in Prague.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions including Zahorian and van Espen, Bratislava, SK (2020, 2021, 2022), OGL Liberec, CZ (2018), National Gallery in Prague, CZ (2016). She has been a finalist for the Oskar Čepan Prize (2021) and Jindřich Chalupecký Prize (2017).
Viktorie Langer’s painting on textiles, canvas, furniture and small objects evinces a dreamy, wandering glance which abstracts, despite leaving legible traces of its original inspiration. Rather than the sharp contours of objects or figures, Viktorie captures their aura, a fluid that changes colours and rounds edges. She creates multilayer installations in which she plays with the speed of the passage of time and the physical presence of the viewer.
